An archetypal journey into the essence of the Goddesses within, through mantra, myth and musings.
Nine months, one goddess a month, starting Monday 2 November 2026, culminating in an optional weekend retreat together.
Have you ever noticed that different seasons of life ask different things of you?
Sometimes you need courage. Sometimes you need compassion. Sometimes you need to trust your intuition, speak your truth, protect what matters, or find the strength to let something go.
What if those qualities weren’t things you had to create, but parts of yourself that were already there, waiting to be remembered?
This is what has always drawn me to the goddess traditions of yoga.
Over the years, I’ve come to experience the goddesses not simply as beautiful stories or distant deities, but as living archetypal energies that help us discover and embody the deepest qualities of our own hearts.
Each one reflects something essential within us: wisdom, love, creativity, fierce protection, abundance, devotion, transformation, joy.
This work has truly changed my life.
There have been times when I’ve turned to Lakshmi to reconnect with gratitude and balance, Durga when I needed courage, Saraswati when I longed for clarity and creativity, and Kali when I knew it was time to let go of something that had reached its end.
What I’ve discovered is that these practices aren’t about becoming someone else. They’re about becoming more fully ourselves.
The goddesses don’t ask us to imitate them. They invite us to recognise the qualities they represent within our own lives.
This journey is the next step
Nine months, Nine Goddesses, One full month of attention each.
If you’ve been to one of my Kirtan workshops, you’ve already experienced a glimpse of these energies through mantra, music and story. This course is the next step.
Over nine months, we’ll gently explore nine archetypal goddesses, giving each one a full month of our attention.
Rather than rushing through information, we’ll take the time to build a real relationship with each archetype and discover how its wisdom speaks to our own lives.
Together, we’ll explore each goddess through:
Story and mythology
Meditation
Yoga Nidra
Mantra
Kirtan
Reflective journalling
Simple everyday practices
Not more knowledge, but a deeper relationship with yourself.
This isn’t about collective more spiritual knowledge. It’s about entering into a deeper relationship with yourself.
Is this journey for you?
You don’t need any experience, just a little curiosity.
Is this journey for you? It might be if:
You’ve come to one of my Kirtans and found yourself wondering about the stories behind the chants.
You’re longing for a practice that nourishes both your heart and your everyday life.
You’re moving through change and feel called to explore your inner world with more kindness and curiosity.
You already love yoga, meditation, mythology, or archetypal psychology and want to experience these teachings in a deeper, more personal way.
Or perhaps, you are completely new to all of this.
You don’t need any experience. You don’t need to know the stories or understand the mythology. You only need a little curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Embodying the Goddesses of Yoga: Weekend Retreat
Non-residential, Journey attendees only.
Come together, in person
For nine months, we’ll meet as a circle on screen, but there’s something the Goddesses have always asked of us that can’t be done online and that is to gather, in body, in one room, together.
As we complete our journey, I’d love to invite you to a weekend retreat at the beautiful Beechwood Hall. A chance to close this year of exploration with each other. To sing the mantras aloud in the same room. To sit in silence together. To celebrate how far we’ve each come, and who we’ve remembered ourselves to be.
This weekend is entirely optional, but if you join us, I promise it will be a beautiful way to hold and integrate what we’ve built.
Date: Saturday 10 July, 2027, 2.00-10.00pm and Sunday 11 July, 2027, 10.30am - 6.00pm
Location: Beechwood hall, Cooksbridge, East Sussex, UK
Investment: £250
This is a non-residential weekend retreat. Accommodation is not included. Retreat attendance is restricted to course attendees only.
Lunch on Sunday is included, along with teas, treats and more.
About Gratia
Your guide for the journey
Gratia is a devotional Kirtan singer, mother and yogini, as well as a storyteller, space holder, occasional baker and cocktail maker.
For more than a decade, she has immersed herself in mantra, mythology and the archetypal energies of the Goddesses of Yoga, discovering in their stories a living map for her own journey through love, loss, grief, and change and finding the nectar within all that life brings.
Through the work of Sally Kempton and her trainings with Nikki Slade in Kirtan, leading and facilitating, Gratia has come to understand the Goddesses of Yoga, not as distant figures, but as energies and qualities already alive within us: inner strength and transformation, passionate longing and erotic margin, surrender and sacrifice, generosity, abundance and flow.
Her hope for this training is to share these teachings in a grounded and relatable way, creating a warm community where we can explore together, support one another and begin to recognise just how much of the Goddess is already here, in our bodies, our relationships , our challenges, our creativity and the fullness of our lives.
